The Valley Croaker (タニグク, Taniguku) is a creature featured in Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.[1]
Description[]
Valley Croakers are amphibians that live in the marsh of the 2nd Layer.[1]
They use their strong legs to jump up and spew poison at their prey and have large webbed feet to spread their legs in midair to briefly glide. Valley Croakers use this acrobatic movement after their initial poison attack to approach prey before performing a body slam.[1][2]
A sign that they are preparing to spew poison is that their throats expand and they make a croaking sound.[2]
Their throats have multiple, bag-like structures where they store poison and, if the throat is properly extracted, it can be used as a poison bag.[1][2]
While Valley Croakers are edible, their meat tastes terrible.[2]
