In the last few days, there have been many announcements by both the Japanese studio and the English publisher of the manga. A series of shorts titled Marulk's Daily Life (provisional name), the release dates for the soundtrack album containing the music from all three movies and the soundtrack of Marulk's Daily Life, the group who will be singing the ED for the sequel movie, MYTH & ROID, and an official Made in Abyss artbook have been announced from the Japanese side. From the western side, Seven Seas has announced that they licensed the spin-off Made in Abyss Anthology.
Marulk's Daily Life, mentioned as an April Fools' joke by the official Made in Abyss Twitter account this year, is, in fact, going to be a real four-part series of shorts. The series will be shown before Japanese screenings of the sequel movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul, one short be fore each screening; which short it is will be changing weekly. Its soundtrack will be released on the day of the sequel movie's release, January 17, 2020.[1][2][3]

It's been announced that the sequel movie's ED, title Forever Lost, will be sung by the J-POP group, MYTH & ROID, with Kevin Penkin, the series' composer, collaborating on it. The track Forever Lost will be able for purchase on MYTH & ROID's new album on March 4, 2020.[1][4][5][6]

The artbook will contain background art and the storyboards for the thirteen episodes of the anime, among other non-specified things. As with other announced merchandise, it too will be available from the sequel movie's premiere, January 17, 2020.[7]

Seven Seas, the official English publisher of the manga, has announced that they have acquired the rights to the Made in Abyss Anthology, a collection of non-canon short stories made by guest artists (not the manga's author, Akihito Tsukushi). It's been announced that both volumes of the anthology will be released as one book. The release date is September 29, 2020.[8]
