The Stinger (ササリ, Sasari) is a creature featured in Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.[1]
Description[]
Stingers appear to be a cross between a bird and a bug.[1]
They flap their wings so fast they can't be seen as these creatures glide and they will fly at an uncanny speed in pursuit of prey.[1]
The part that looks like a beak is actually a very sharp horn which can pierce as well as cut flesh. Stingers stab their food with this horn to carry it back to their nest before eating. The mouth is located slightly below the base of the horn.[1][2]
They are unable to change directions while rushing at their prey, which may cause them to crash into trees or rocks. They often get eaten by other creatures while stuck in this way.[1]
Stinger meat is edible but unpleasant, being very tough and unappetizing.[2]
