How Are You? Somewhere 2 - Mio is the second side-story chapter of the Made in Abyss manga series.
Synopsis[]
Nat and Shiggy are discussing the Burial Tower found in the 1st Layer. Laffi approaches and asks about Kiyui, who they say is sick despite being his birthday, which makes her fear that it's the Birthday-Death Disease talked about in Orth. Mio overhears the conversation, prompting her to visit the ill Kiyui at Belchero Orphanage.
Jiruo and Mio carry Kiyui to the medical ship in the Caravan Fleet. As they travel through Orth, they witness a funeral. Jiruo then explains that Eternal Fortunes and the deceased's ashes are returned to The Abyss upon death. Mio realizes how serious the illness is after Jiruo talks about other possible cases.
At the medical ship, Kiyui's fever has completely subsided, puzzling Mio. She begins to wonder if it's a Curse.
