Made in Abyss Wiki

Concealment is the fifth episode of the Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun anime series.

Synopsis[]

While Reg is trying to go back to the village, he encounters a Turbinid-Dragon and gets attacked by it. He is saved by Faputa's robot, who warns him about staying too long in The Village of Iruburu.[1]

After Reg was saved by Gaburoon, Reg tries to get answers while being escorted back to the village. He questions Gaburoon if they know who he is and what he is. Gaburoon informs Reg of having no data regarding Interference Units of Reg's kind and elaborates further that they themself are an Interference Unit; a robot capable of independent thought and actions with the purpose to observe and interact to gather knowledge. However, they don't know what Reg are. Due to design similarities, Gaburoon wonders if Reg and they might share the same creator; noting that Interference Units don't cross layers. Upon hearing that, Reg further presses if Gaburoon possibly knows who his creator could be, but Gaburoon informs him he has not been granted that data. Gaburoon asks Reg, as someone who can go anywhere, to uncover said data. Then the village comes into their view.[2]

The scenery shifts to Riko, with Moogie nonchalantly naming the Narehate next to her as one of The Three Sages that built the village, Wazukyan, who also speaks the Delver language.[3]

Upon hearing who he is and what the sages are, Riko gets flustered for not introducing herself properly and bows deeply and introduces herself as a Delver to Wazukyan. Wazukyan give her a laid back and enthusiastic response in that being great and gives her a high five before leaving.[4]

Later on, the Narehate teaches Riko the basics of the language of the village and tells her where her friends could be. Riko goes to a cave in the village called Doguupu, "Within the Eye". Within it, Riko finds an imprisoned woman.[5]

Riko asks the woman who she is and why she is trapped in this cave. Timidly, the woman introduces herself as Vueroeruko; Vueko for short. She tells Riko that she once is a person who was against the founding of the village and thus was banished into the dark pits below it. As she kept observing how the village developed, she changed her point of view, and now supposes it's not such a bad place. [6]

She hopes to one day be freed, but assumes Riko won't set a potential dangerous individual free. However, Riko removes her bindings without hesitation, saying she seems like a good person. Afterwards, Vueko; in disguise, goes back to the Village with Riko. She also has an idea where Riko might find her friends.[7]

Vueko leads Riko to the house of one of the Three Sages, Belaf. When Riko enters Belaf's House she finds Nanachi laying beside a Narehate who looks like Mitty. Majikaja was inside the sage's house with them, as well. When Riko meets Belaf he tells her that Mitty is a clone he got by sacrificing half of his body, as he couldn't buy Mitty directly from Bondrewd.[8]

He also tells Riko, Nanachi sold themself to him to buy Mitty. In order to buy them back, Riko would need to trade him parts of her body with equal value.[9]
