Bottom Layer is the sixty-sixth chapter of the Made in Abyss manga series.

Synopsis[]

Tepaste and Reg continue to help Sherumi and Menae bathe. Reg is reminded of what happened when he tried to ask Menae about what he said regarding the fate of his friends, but he is rebuffed. Menae makes a reference to his and Sherumi's severed right arms, suggesting that they are similar.

After bathing, the twins confirm their suspicion that Reg is not Juusou. Srajo invites the kids to take part in the meal, Nanachi is delighted but insists on using their own dishes and asks Reg to check the food for poison. This prompts Nishagora to become upset, but she is reassured that caution is a reliable attribute to have as a Delver.

Once Reg has confirmed that the food is safe to eat, his companions join in, barring Faputa. Yataramar, one of Srajo's Delvers, signals to Riko that she should season her food. He does so, silently, so as not to distress Srajo. Faputa relents and eats alongside the others.

Both groups prepare their belongings for departure and make plans to descend the final depths of the 6th Layer. An agreement is made that the two groups will make a temporary joint delve into the 7th Layer, together.

At the threshold of the Final Maelstrom, the Delvers remark at the changing environment and due to the change in atmosphere and the danger becoming more palpable Srajo offers to reveal parts of the Hariyomari Collection to Riko's team in advance. Srajo suggests the name Hello Abyss for Riko's team. They walk into the unknown, as verses from The Song of Hariyomari are recited.
