Talking Lag Pot (食い繋ぐ鍋 (トーキングラグポット) , Rationing Pot?) is a short live reading performance that took place in an official fan-meeting with the cast of the anime Made in Abyss: Golden City of the Scorching Sun. The script was written by the anime's script writer and series composer Hideyuki Kurata with the supervision of Akihito Tsukushi.[1]

Synopsis[]

The story describes the two perspectives one after the other of Ganja’s squad, who had just arrived at the sixth layer and Riko’s squad, who just departed from the Narehate village. Irumyuui picks up a pot, Ganja looks for ingredients and they begin making the “Ganja stew”. Since Irumyuui knows which mushrooms are edible and which ones aren't, they were able to make a splendid and delicious “Ganja stew”. After that, the recipe improved over time and the “Ganja stew” was passed down to the residents of the Narehate village. As generations went by, we follow Riko’s squad. Faputa picks up a pot and Riko proposes to make the “Ganja stew” she heard about from the Narehate village. Riko, while struggling to differentiate between edible and inedible mushrooms, heard a voice coming from the pot, who taught her about the different kinds of mushrooms. After safely enjoying the delicious meal, Riko wondered whether the curious pot was a Relic or not and named it Talking Lag Pot (食い繋ぐ鍋 (トーキングラグポット) , Rationing Pot?). The story ends with Vueko and Riko’s words “The longing and homesickness won’t stop”.[1]
