The Kazura Squid is a species seen inhabiting the 3rd and 4th layers of The Abyss.[1]
Description[]
The Kazura Squid (カズライカ, Kazuraika) can first be seen in the Great Fault, as embedded spiky eggs, at a depth of 6,750m.[2] Once hatched, they live in the upper regions of the 4th Layer, housed in the water atop the Flat-creepers.[1]
It is unknown if they are edible or pose any harm to Delvers. Riko states that the squid has no official name.[1] Later, their nesting area at the bottom of the 3rd Layer is labelled as "Flat-Creeper Squid Spawning Grounds", in the series map.[3]
Trivia[]
- Attempts to observe Kazura Squids laying their eggs have been made, but no one has ever been successful in witnessing it.[4]
