The Ink Flower (スミナガシ, Suminagashi) is a creature featured in Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.[1]
Description[]
Ink Flowers are large, dangerous, primeval floating creatures that elegantly and lazily fly about.[1]
Immediately after being born, they live underwater due to still being very weak before they mature.[2]
Their fin and tactile organs are fused together to sense both airflow and Force Field and it is an important part of their anatomy used for movement and as a sensor.[1]
Their head portion is extremely tough and when viewed from the front, their whiskers and fins point into six directions.[1]
Ink Flowers expel air from what looks like gills at regular intervals, making it possible to fly at a fast speed or to suddenly change directions. They exceptionally good at ramming their enemies where they least expect it.[2]
When they move at high speed, they fold down their fins and whiskers.[1]
