The Ilblu Balancing is a way for the village of Ilblu to produce a net gain of value by redistributing valued possessions from inhabitants, who damaged value not belonging to them, to other inhabitants who "buy" them with their own value.[1]

Due to Ilblu understanding the desires of its inhabitants, undesired possessions that won't be bought are transformed into "lower value" which manifests as currency of the village. Things that are transformed this way can never be returned to their original form, but can be used as currency in the village or during Balancings.[2]

If the caused damage exceeds the value of possessions, the inhabitant in question makes up the shortfall with their body.[3]

Once the amount of caused damage is reached, the victim is compensated in form of the "low value" currency used in the village. This currency is bound to the new owner of it and can't be discarded, except by being used as payment.[4]

Trivia[]

  • According to Vueko, the masses seen in the balancing, to heal Faputa, and ultilized by Juroimoh, are shapes of souls of Irumyuui’s children who had returned and the children who were yet to be born.[5][6] During her time in Doguupu she gave them names and Faputa was shown to know their names.[7]
