Hello Abyss (奈落の連環 (ハローアビス) , Hello Abyss, Links of the Netherworld^?) is the name of Riko's group of Delvers, given to them by the White Whistle Srajo. Formerly, they were known as Team Riko or The Challengers, by Bondrewd and Wazukyan.

The earliest incarnation of Hello Abyss began when Riko encountered an unconscious Reg in the 1^st Layer, after being attacked by a Crimson Splitjaw. Initially spurred into adventure by a mysterious letter and a desire to uncover Reg's unknown origin, the duo embarked on a dive into the furthest reaches of The Abyss.

Despite their relative inexperience, they have been acknowledged by White Whistles, such as Bondrewd and Srajo, for their unparalleled tenacity and uniqueness.

• The original title of Made in Abyss was "Hello Abyss", but the idea was rejected.
• Each chapter of the main story is given the preceding title of "Hello Abyss".
• As noted by Srajo, each member of Hello Abyss has a unique or unlikely connection to The Abyss. Riko was a stillborn brought back from the dead by the Curse-Warding Box, while in the Abyss. Reg is speculated to have originated from the "bottom of the Netherworld". Nanachi possesses a supremely rare Blessed form. Faputa was born from three very powerful wish-granting relics.
