“ | After handing over a piece of the princess, Gaume was more than happy to do business with me. | ” |
—Moogie, to Riko |
Gaume (ガウメ ) is a merchant in Iruburu's Market of Value who values all sorts of Delver gear. He is one of the original members of Ganja.[1]
Appearance[]
As a Narehate, Gaume has a black, featureless face and wears a variety of delver helmets over his own big helmet. He wears a pink gown that covers his whole body, excluding his hands. He carries an assortment of other Delver equipment, such as pickaxes and shovels.[2]
As a human, Gaume had yellow eyes, a square face, dark blue hair, and a serious look. He wears what appears to be a trapper hat or Russian hat with two white stripes across. He wears a blue scarf on his neck.[1]
Personality[]
As a merchant, he is very protective of his own stock and prone to yelling.[3]
History[]
Ganja Arc[]
He was one of the first ones to reach the summit of the island of the Abyss.[4] As a member of Ganja, he was one of the members tasked to hunt for food during their stay in the 6th Layer.[5]
After Ganja had survived the disease by the Pseudowater, Gaume was one of the original members to sacrifice his body to Irumyuui and become a Narehate.[1]
Iruburu Arc[]
As Riko is introduced to Iruburu's Market of Value, a note from Lyza being sold at Gaume's shop catches her attention. She grabs it unconsciously and Gaume quickly takes it back and yells at her. Majikaja tells her that one shouldn't touch others' things that possess Value.[3]
Gaume was also seen partaking in the conflict against the Fuzosheppu.[6]
During the destruction of the village, we hear from Moogie that Gaume happily accepted a piece of Faputa in exchange for the note from Lyza. This is also the first utterance of his name.[7]
Gaume is among the last villagers to listen to Faputa's final request to sacrifice themselves in order to set her mother free.[8]
Abilities[]
Skilled Hunter[]
As someone capable of aiding in hunting, as a Narehate and as a human, he is capable of teamwork and is proficient with a sword and shield.[5]
