As some may know, Gamepedia was absorbed into fandom wikia and thus brought system changes to UCP. They have now also decided to roll out further unifying measures with a design overhaul labled FandomDesktop, switching out the Oasis design, which will kill individuality in fandom wiki designs by norming the background to white/black, infoxboxes etc. to an unappealing and cluttered look, removing the original wiki logo etc.
This overhaul is currently not mandatory but is planned to become mandatory this ongoing summer. As such, I wanted to give a small heads up because I will have to decide for myself wether or not I will keep editing after it rolled out and brings the utterly ugly designs and changes with it.
I'm looking for a new anime series to watch. I heard this series has great visuals but is the plot good too?
On the 5th of May, the official Made in Abyss Anime Twitter has announced that the second season of MiA will air in 2022.
According to Akihito Tsukushi, the author of Made in Abyss, Chapter 58 will come out on the 30th of March

Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul will begin western virtual screenings starting on 18th September
Today on August 26th, Sentai has announced via tweet and in their #sentaiathome-stream, virtual screenings of Made in Abyss Movie 3: Dawn of the Deep Soul will begin starting 18th September.
Personal thoughts: I personally think it is horrible that Sentai region locked it to the point that Europeans will need a VPN to watch the movie while they could have easily obtained liecensing for the entire european room as well. The "tickets" are overprized and that one does not get all 4 Marulk OVAs with one ticket is bad distributation.
The third movie for Made in Abyss, Dawn of the Deep Soul is being released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on September 25th.
Today, on February 27 2020, a trailer for the upcoming release of the third MiA movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul, in western theaters, was set to air on March 2 2020 by the Sentai Works Youtube channel.
According to the description, the movie will be coming to theaters subtitled on April 13th and April 15th with dub.
Update: With the trailer, a listing of theaters that will screen the movie was released.
The official Made in Abyss Twitter account announced the decision to produce a new sequel to the Made in Abyss anime, which probably will follow the story after the third movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul. It's not been said which form the sequel will take—it could be another movie, another season, or even one or more OVAs. Alongside the announcement, the Twitter account showed a colored propagation picture of the entrance to the sixth layer, originally from the manga.
This is all of the information which has yet been shared.
Rename images to the appropriate naming conventions and accurate titles.
- Introduce a new gallery format to display title covers and volume covers.
Adapt a referencing system to prototype for the wiki.
Possible ideas & suggestions for the wiki.
- Add the View Source and What Link's Here buttons to the wiki.
- Remove fan-translated terms from page names and fan-scanlated pages from infoboxes.
- Re-title chapter pages to remove prefixes.
- Add a new referencing system that allows referencing by page as well as by chapter and epsiode, and includes links to the chapter pages.
In the last few days, there have been many announcements by both the Japanese studio and the English publisher of the manga. A series of shorts titled Marulk's Daily Life (provisional name), the release dates for the soundtrack album containing the music from all three movies and the soundtrack of Marulk's Daily Life, the group who will be singing the ED for the sequel movie, MYTH & ROID, and an official Made in Abyss artbook have been announced from the Japanese side. From the western side, Seven Seas has announced that they licensed the spin-off Made in Abyss Anthology.
Marulk's Daily Life, mentioned as an April Fools' joke by the official Made in Abyss Twitter account this year, is, in fact, going to be a real four-part series of shorts.…
Edit: Sentai Filmoworks' channel set the video private, however the official Kadokawa Anime Youtube channel released the raw trailer on November 20 2019. It's possible that Sentai Filmworks released the subbed video ahead of schedule.
Today, on November 17 2019, a new trailer for the upcoming sequel movie was released. Be wary, however, because it shows quite a lot of story details.
Earlier this year in July, another trailer was released, which is much more conservative in how many story details are shown.
Dawn of the Deep Soul will be out in January 2020 in Japanese theatres and will cover the story arc right after the end of the anime.
The two recap movies for Made in Abyss, Journey's Dawn and Wandering Twilight are being released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on November 27th!
The author of Made in Abyss, Akihito Tsukushi, has confirmed ,in a tweet on twitter, that Chapter 51 will be released on the 30th of march.
Just a little bit more time of patience.
In consideration of the current Manga Arc we have decided to merge the Headliner "Plot" with the Headliner "History, covering all Arcs and minor past events in them by chronological order.

The wiki now has its own Discord server. You can use it to quickly talk with fellow editors or ask admins for advice or just talk. You should see a Discord widget in the sidebar. Happy editing!

I and Snake-shake and some other wiki editors have written a manual of style for the use on the wiki. It's been written with the actual state of the articles and community in mind, so I don't think there's any controversial content. But as always, discussion leading to consensus is an integral part of a wiki. So if we've done a really bad job, don't hesitate to shame the style guide, and we'll discuss and change it if need be. If no one raises any objections, the manual of style shall be ratified and become policy on October 28.
Happy, more consistent, editing.

I've created two new notices for use on the Wiki:
"Spoiler Notice Part"
"Spoiler Notice Full"
In the near future, I'd like to implement partial spoilers, but since partial spoilers don't work on mobile, a traditional notice like this is still needed. So I guess we can start plastering the notice on relevant articles. Or not: as always, if you have any objections or complaints, shoot them in the comments. Also, the notices' look needn't be final: if you think they look like junk, feel free to improve them.
Please also use the Spoiler category for all articles containg spoilers.

Despite Riko saying this squid species has no name, the map shown later on chapter 22 gives (what we can assume is it) a name. I believe we should change the title name to Kazura Squid but mention it is claimed to be unnamed by Riko
The three delvers in Layabouts don't have any confirmed/sourced names so perhaps we should group the three of them into the official english translation of their group "Subterranean Bandits" The Layabouts tab should also be changed to "Seeker Camp" or "Layer two" so it's more encompassing of all the characters in it.
we added (thanks to Alpatron) Userboxes to the wiki, which u can place on your profile to show affection to your favourite character.
To promote more editing, we (well, Snake-shake) have decided to implement the badges thing-y on the wiki. It's essentially an achievement system to allow you to brag about how much work you've put into the wiki. Currently, a lot of the badges have default designs and names, and Snake-shake's working on fixing that, but it might be quite difficult, so if you have any good ideas for badge names or pictures, share them. If you have any suggestions, complaints, concerns, anything to this change, please voice them— wikis are made by the people for the people, after all.

I'm requesting help to alter the character infoboxes. Now that the English cast has been revealed, I'm looking to add a "Voice Actor" section, but I'm unsure how. Could anyone else do this?
One of the problems we used to have was that the text in the wiki was quite difficult to read as the text color was similar to the background color. As you have all probably noticed, the theme, design, and background colors of the wiki have been changed. The wiki wordmark (the wiki's logo) has been replaced as well.
Are you pleased with the changes? Are you unsatisfied with them? Is there a need for further improvement? Please feel free to let me know!
I have also made some changes to the main page, but I haven't made any drastic alterations to the design and layout.
The main page is usually what new users and visitors see when they come to the wiki and having an attractive main page can help draw new users in.
As of the moment,…
After a few leaderless months, finally Made in Abyss Wiki has staff members. I've completed the adoption process and now have full admin and bureaucrat rights. Also, I've made Lelouch Di Britannia a staff member as well to help out. I won't be too active these coming weeks; I've got a lot going on and I'm in a very stressful and important period of my life, but I will do my best to earn the rights I've been endowed.
I've made a request for adoption of this wiki here: http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Adoption:Made_in_Abyss_Wiki:_A_second_guy
It's been a few days since I made it, but I'm just letting everyone know.
Hey, just out of curiosity: does anyone currently have plans to adopt the Made in Abyss Wiki? I love the series and seeing its wiki without an admin to take care of it is kinda sad, but I cannot adopt this place myself at this point in time (I have another request pending for a different wiki).
If anyone does, just comment below so we can start a bit of discussion. :)
Context: Stumbled upon the anime and binged through the current episode (11) and then binged to the latest manga chapter (42).
I'm thoroughly impressed with how the author has embedded psychological concepts into the fabric of this work's universe. What stands out is the nature of the white whistles as complete expressions of individuation - the absolute differentiation of the individual from the collective mass. Moreover, the element of sacrifice rings true - every attainment of a desire requires a sacrifice, a price to be paid in compensation for the value received. In the last few chapters (thus far) the author definitely demonstrates a fluidity with the market concept.
At heart, the entire trajectory of this work is a Bildungsroman; howe…
