The Abyss ecosystem is incredibly diverse and otherworldly, making its flora and fauna just as varied. Living creatures of the great pit, also referred to as Primeval Creatures (原生生物 (げんせいせいぶつ) , Gensei-seibutsu), have evolved to adapt to such harsh conditions, even developing unique sensing organs for the Force Field within The Abyss.^[1]

90% of species in The Abyss have not yet been identified. The further into The Abyss a Delver goes, the stranger and more dangerous the creatures become.^[2] In order to gauge the aggression of the beasts within The Abyss, a "danger level" system was created as a reference for Delvers in order for them to understand and evaluate the caution they must display whilst in The Abyss.^[3]

It is frequently established that the deeper you find yourself in The Abyss, the more likely you are to happen across creatures with higher and more substantial "danger level" scores.^[4]

The Danger Level "Unprecedented" was originally created as a joke by Delvers, but the unexpected appearance of dangerous creatures exceeding even their wildest imaginations ended up making it an official classification.^[3]
